Announcement on connections to the new sewage network

Dear fellow citizens,

we are pleased to inform you that the construction works for the new sewage network in the areas of Kokkinaria and Agia Marina have been completed, and the new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) has already begun operating.

The procedures for connecting properties to the sewage network are now beginning.

We remind you that connection to the sewage network is mandatory under the applicable legislation (art. 169, Law 4951/2022) and the sewage regulation. It is essential for the protection of public health, the environment, and the improvement of the quality of life in our area.

Please proceed immediately with the required applications to connect your property.

Connection procedure

The connection procedure requires the following:

1. Submission of a connection application to the Municipality together with the necessary supporting documents (Building Permit or settlement certificate, copy of E9, Water bill, latest Electricity bill). The application and supporting documents may be submitted through the sewage.spetseseservices.gr application.
2. Review by our service for eligibility due to the included area and the technical specifications.
3. Connection approval by our service.

ATTENTION!! You are prohibited from connecting to the sewage network before you are granted approval of the connection works. Anyone who connects will be penalised with a fine.

4. Execution of the necessary works, which will be carried out only after our approval. Upon completion of the works, our service will issue the certificate confirming that the connection is lawful.

Funding programme

We would like to inform you about the possibility of funding the connections through the Ministry of the Environment programme «ΣΥΝΔΕΟΜΑΙ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΠΟΧΕΤΕΥΣΗ» ("I Connect to the Sewage"), for which the Municipal Authority is making every possible effort for our island to be deemed eligible as well. Through this programme, it will be possible to subsidise the property connection works, in accordance with the terms and conditions provided in the programme or any extension thereof. Timely information about the subsidy programme will be provided soon.

The Municipality is at your disposal for any clarification and support, to ensure the proper and timely connection of all residences. Timely compliance is necessary to avoid fines and other administrative sanctions.

A major and long-awaited project is being completed, and now the time has come to make use of it for the upgrade of our area.
