Paths on Spetses

The “Greek Paths of Culture” programme, created by ELLINIKI ETAIRIA – Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage, is implemented at Spetses in collaboration with the Municipality of Spetses and Anargyreos & Korgialeneios School of Spetses – AKSS. The island of Spetses, despite its small size, presents remarkable hiking opportunities, in a typical Mediterranean environment.

The “Greek Paths of Culture in Spetses” network includes 19 routes, with a total length of 65 km. The routes start either from Spetses town, or from the island’s ring road. Most of them reach the main ridgeline, at the key points of Ktima Chara, Sinantisi Kynigon, Profitis Ilias and Rigani peak. The routes utilize the contours and relief of the island, and can be combined to create longer circular hikes or crossings, reaching the most important points of interest in Spetses.

At the time of printing (June 2022), the routes have not been signposted yet, but are clear and can be walked. Find the info for each of them in the descriptions that follow and scan the QR code to download the app.

Enjoy the Greek Paths of Culture in Spetses! All you need is enough water, a hat, some snacks and good company!
